Biography
Originally from Christchurch, my partner and I moved to Waiheke Island after the earthquake.
I am fortunate enough to have enough room to have a dedicated space to paint in.
Suffering from P.T.S.D. I found painting was a great solace to me. I could lose myself for hours in shapes and colours and values.
If I haven’t spent several hours a day painting I feel as my day is wasted.
My Story With Art
Painting came to me when I was in my 60s. I had always imagined myself as an artist but never taken any steps towards becoming one.
Over than last 14 years, however, it has become a passion. If I don't paint for a few hours at least, every day, I feel like I have wasted my day.
I am self-taught, but luckily discovered YouTube, where there is a wealth of information on just about anything you want to know. So when I am not painting I am watching videos on all aspects of art.
The consequence of those passions is that I end up with literally dozens of paintings.
